P.T.A. General Body Meeting 2019-2020

The General Body Meeting of the P.T.A. of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School , Mapusa was held on the 20th of July 2019 at St. Xavier’s Ark hall at 2pm, over 1000 parents and guardians attended the meeting. Guest Speaker Dr. Anna Neena George lecturer at GVM's Dr. Vaidya College of Education, Ponda –Goa, spoke on the topic “Understanding Today’s Adolescents”. She focused on the role of parents and teachers as well. Dr. George mentioned about how the parents need to set boundaries but respect personal space and for teachers to get the creativeness out from the child. The outgoing executive members were thanked and felicitated for their selfless effort and new executive members for the year 2019-2020 were introduced to the gathering.

INNOVATION BLOCK: The Innovation Block which is a PTA initiative was inaugurated on the 24th of June 2019 by the Archbishop of Goa and Daman, His Grace Most Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao. The Block houses the Atal Tinkering Laboratory, an Automated Library, classrooms, cafeteria and an open to sky Observatory.

TALK ON STRESS MANAGEMENT DURING EXAMINATION: The PTA of the school organized a talk on the topic Stress Management during examination by Dr. Jaipradha Kanekar, a Cognitive Behavior Therapist at Galaxy Hospital for the students of standard XII. Dr. Kanekar explained the causes of stress and guided the students on how to overcome the examination fears and anxiety.

INSTALLATION OF INTELLIGENT INTERACTIVE PANELS: Age old teaching methods are becoming redundant, therefore our school has adopted the new teaching tool to improve the classroom teaching learning process. The PTA has installed Intelligent interactive panels in 10 classrooms in the first phase which will play a significant role as mentors towards building future leaders.

GRAND SPORTS DAY : The Sports Day cum Prize Distribution ceremony of our school has been scheduled on the 7th of December 2019 at St. Xaviers Footbal Ground Mapusa. The day will witness 1700 students of the institution displaying their skills in different drills representing Nature as well as March past, Track and Field events etc.

The PTA is the sturdy pillar and support for the smooth functioning of the school. The PTA with a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment are grateful to the sponsors, well wishers and friends for their cooperation and support in all the activities of the school.
